Pastor Henry E. Black Jr. answered God's call to preach the good news in 1982 under the leadership of the late Bishop Jim D. Moore of Monroe, LA at Empire Church of Deliverance. He began his relationship with Jesus Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor C.L. Murray at the Good will Church of God in Christ. Pastor Black received his Christian training under the guidance of the late Pastors C.L. Murray, Bishop A.J. Thompson, and Bishop Jim D. More, Bishop E.N. Webb. Pastor Black also served under Pastor Michael Haynes, Nevadas 1st Jurisdictional Prelate Bishop C. Hall, and last but not least Dr. Ron Thomas.
Pastor Black has been the proud husband to Angeila Black since May 2, 1992. Pastor Black is the father to 3 wonderful boys (Solomon, Henry III, and Jesurun).
Pastor Black began his ministry as a youth and young adult worker. His work included coordinating activities and setting the curriculum for the Young Men's Club, Young Ladies Club and Monday night prayer and bible study.
Pastor Black has been a part time producer and gospel announcer at KCEP Radio Power 88.1 for over 15 years. He is the founder of the Gospel Announcers and Broadcasters Association. He is the founder and Pastor of Covenant Keepers United Christian Fellowship, Inc. His hobbies include playing basketball, listening to gospel music, weight lifting, and spending time with his family.
When Pastor Black is on the radio he goes by HB the GP. That is, Henry Black the Gospel Personality. His goal as a Gospel Radio Personality is to be the best that he can be in serving the community .
God has given Pastor Black a passion to see excellence in the gospel industry via promoting concerts, play production, dance, theatre or whatever; hence the birthing of The Gospel Announcers and Broadcasters Association (GABA) a Network for the Gospel Community.
The Mission Statement of the Gospel Announcers and Broadcasters Association is:
To create a unified body that can serve, increase, preserve, establish, strengthen and expand the rich, traditional heritage of communication of Gospel and Inspirational Music.
To provide a platform for Networking that will Address the common needs of religious Leaders, Pastors, promoters, producers, radio and tv announcers, editors, authors, multi-media specialist, retail store owners, singers, dancers, musicians, poets, rapers, groups, choirs, gospel disc Jockys and others.
